Mike Levin
I go on vacation for a week in Maine, and Facebook enables vanity URLs! Ugh. Every year, it’s something like that. Anyway, I missed /mikelevin to one of those other smart and fast Mike Levin’s out there, so I went with my standard /miklevin which I have on almost every account I create across the Internet. In just a few days (one week?) my Facebook status page is on the first page of Google on a search for Mike Levin. I haven’t even built any links to the new URL. It must be inheriting relevancy from the old people/username/id system. Gotta look at the nature of the redirects. They look like meta refreshes since the old URLs momentarily show, but gotta look more carefully. Whatever they’re doing is the formula for solid relevancy transference.
