Just signed up for Google Apps. I saw the announcment of Google Scripts for Spreadsheets, for which the beta was only available to Google Apps domains. That was enough to get me to sign up for a personal $50/yr account. Wow, Microsoft REALLY missed the boat on this “just works” Web apps bandwagon, which is about to become the premier mashup platform in its own right. It’s going to take a while for people to really “get it”. Search engine optimizers (SEO’s) will get it first, due to the usefulness of the “look at the Web” lookups that you will probably be able to do from within a spreadsheet (or certainly will be able to do with a bit of hacking). Anyone else seeing this?
