Programming on Tectonic Shifts, and My Move to...
I’m motivated to put a blog post together about a unique career-adjustment experience I’m going through, so that I can share it with any others who find themselves in the same boat. I’m a casual-programmer who stumbled into the VBScript/IIS trap because it was so easy to get started. Low barrier to entry, experiential and code-base lock-in as they move you along the path to...

Attention David Karp of Tumblr - Question!
Hey David Karp will you please fix the archive? I switched to Tumbr because I do in fact agree that it’s the easiest way to blog, but do you have to show duplicate and blank boxes so prevalently in the archive? And while you’re at it, how about allowing responses to all types of posts, and from the iPhone app? …NEWS FLASH… The “Let People Answer This” checkbox...

WatchWatch
It’s definitely becoming easier and easier to create and publish pencasts. This addresses some of my thoughts this morning about time management, and an attempt to motivate myself to get important and urgent things done right away.

I am my own worst enemy - solution forthcoming
On this beautiful, sun-filled Memorial Day, I’m choosing to stay home and get some work done. But I’m distracted by the Internet, addicted to Facebook commenting, taking photos on my iPhone and Tumbling them, and Stumbling (StumbleUpon). Thankfully, I stumbled upon an article that jarred me back into the moment. High IQ Is No Help for Those With ADHD, Yale Researchers Find. The line...

It’s not only Memorial Day weekend, but it’s also Geek Pride Day. That’s why it’s perfect that I’ll be launching SuperGeekSEO this weekend, where I’ll over-share about my upcoming entrepreneurial ventures in long, rambling posts like this that will be of no interest to anyone but super-geeks. Let me elaborate. Turn back now. In these trying times of recession,...

An Amazing Week and Amazing In-Laws
Yesterday was an amazing day. The whole week was pretty amazing for that matter. But not for me, but rather for my Father-in-Law, and Rachel’s whole family (of which I gladly count myself a part of). I made a series of posts lately featuring this, and think I ought to elaborate in at least one. I won’t steal this guy’s thunder, because he has a series of life stories, which while...

Mobile Local Services and iPhone Data Push
The “local services” disussion panel that David Berkowitz set up yesterday was very insightful. Google, Whrrl, Shop Lucky and Centrl were all represented. One bit take-away was that even though many developers are trying to stay technolohy-agnostic, the good topics are almost all iPhone. iPhone users are like 75% more likely to do stuff and buy things than the next runner up. Everyone...

Advantages of Tumblr
Tumblr is the easiest way to publish thanks to their iPhone app and “one data format per post” method. You choose Text or Photo or Video, etc. first, then just upload it with some quick captioning. It hooked me where others have not—not even Twitter. Not allowing photos or audio natively is a huge shortcoming, because it’s even faster to talk and take photos than it is to...
